This important volume reconstructs from the Akasha Record events
between the origin of the earth and the beginning of recorded history.
Steiner gives an overview of the Atlantean and Lemurian civilizations,
their origins, achievements, and fate. These remarkable "lost" root
races developed the first concepts of good and evil, manipulated forces
of nature, laid the groundwork of all legal and ethical systems, and
defined and nurtured the distinctive yet complementary powers of men
and women that brought humankind to its highest artistic, intellectual,
and spiritual attainments. It was originally published in German as,
Aus der Akasha-Chronik.
Early versions of the English translations of this work bore the title
Atlantis and Lemuria or
The Submerged Continents of Atlantis and Lemuria
and contained almost exactly the first half of the version entitled
Cosmic Memory.
Chapter titles include:
Our Atlantean Ancestors,
Transition of the Fourth into the Fifth Root Race,
The Lemurian Race,
The Last Period before the Division into the Sexes,
The Hyperborean and the Polarian Epoch,
Begining of the Present Earth-Extrusion of the Sun,
Extrusion of the Moon,
On the Origin of the Earth,
The Earth of the Future,
The Fourfold Man of the Earth.
