About the Rudolf Steiner Archive

A Line of Forest Trees

If you are new to this site, new to Anthroposophy, just getting acquainted with Rudolf Steiner, or just looking for something else to read, we have some information here that's just for you. See where we came from, what we're doing here, and where we are planning to go. But, get to know Rudolf Steiner first.

First, Some Background ...

. Who is Rudolf Steiner?
This is a short Biography of Rudolf Steiner written by Michael Wilson in 1964 ... it is from the introduction to The Philosophy of Freedom. Be sure to read some of the other biographies that are on the Other Steiner Biographys page.

. A Statement of Purpose and Intent
“Just what are you doing on the Internet?” This is what some folks have asked! And here is our answer to that and several other burning questions!

. The History of this Initiative
Starting in 1978 and continuing up to the present, The Rudolf Steiner Archive has been actively bringing Steiner's words to interested people around the world. We were small at first, but have grown quite a bit since then ... read all about it.

. Steps to Digitizing at the Archive
It's a little more complicated than it would seem! Even though technology has made the scanning process much better and more accurate, it still is quite a bit of work to make documents “readable!”

Then, Some Information ...

. Promotional Features from our Home Page
You may have noticed that, every so often, there is a promotional announcement on our Home page. They appear for only a week or so. Using this page will give you a review, and allow you to see what has been offered.

. Steiner's Quote of the Day
From Rudolf Steiner's works and our collection of his notable quotes, this selection will bring up a new window with a random quote selected just for you.
