From
the Archive e.Librarian:
The Rudolf Steiner Archive is a unique resource, not least in that
we provide this valuable resource free of charge to the world-wide
community, and in that we depend on this community to provide most of
the financial support an effort of this scope requires. This support
makes it possible for the Archive to stay on the internet and to
expand the collection on a continuous basis. Most of our offerings
are by Rudolf Steiner, but we also include works by other authors,
anthroposophically oriented and not so much. We also provide
state-of-the-art tools for research and study, including search tools
and side-by-side comparisons of translations and editions.
During
2009 the Archive added 227 documents, and by Easter this year, we
have added 45 more! We plan to add many others before the end of
2010, including:
- Ways to a New Style in Architecture
- The Gospel of St. Matthew
- True and False Paths in Spiritual Investigations
- The Gospel of St. John
- The Apocalypse of St. John
- Third Scientific Lecture-Course: Astronomy (finally!)
- The Karma of Untruthfulness, Volume One
- Old and New Methods of Initiation

In
the past year, we have also reached out through social networking,
spreading the good words as part of our goal to increase positive content
on the internet. We are actively using Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and
LinkedIn! Keeping everything online, and trying to find time to add to the
content, is very challenging. Daily, we have more than 16,000 visitors,
and over 220,000 hits! Yes, that is correct, that is the amount of traffic
we have each and every day! This requires an extensive investment in
internet bandwidth and equipment.
We
love the work we do, bringing Steiner's words to the world-wide community,
but there are very real costs involved, including Internet line charges,
and upgrading some very old computers. Won't you please make a contribution
to help keep the Archive online and growing? Contributions are tax
deductible in the USA: we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. See our
Helping page
to find ways you can help.
We
take no salaries, benefits or any other compensation, beyond the
satisfaction of providing this useful resource to all. We donate time
to get documents online (see our
Steps in Digitizing
a Document),
computer hardware and software maintenance and upgrading, developing and
upgrading online study tools, and the knitty-gritty office work including
bookkeeping, and legal and tax-related filings.
The
Rudolf Steiner Archive is counting on your support. Every donation, no
matter what the amount, is greatly appreciated and will be put to excellent
use. Won't you be a part of our initiative and help us bring Steiner's
words to the World?
We
are grateful for the opportunity to do our small part in making
knowledge available. Thank you all for helping us.
