What's Old, from 2004, at the Steiner Archive
There are a lot of changes going on around the Steiner Archive:
new formats, new links, additional features. Sometimes it's hard to find
out just what is going on! Well, here is what you've been looking for —
a list of the changes, additions, and coming attractions that occured at
the Archive in 2004.
Some 2004 Changes...
-
On-line user counts in the left menu-bar. (as of 11/23/2004):
-
We have started to display a count of our on-line users in the left-hand
menu-bar, just below the main menu list. The information displayed shows
the number of users currently on the system, and the most users on the
system at any one time, along with the associated date and time.
-
New eMail forms at the Archive! (as of 10/21/2004):
-
We thought the old eMail forms, from the old site, were working just
fine ... how wrong we were! For reasons unknown, they did not work at
the new site and went unnoticed for quite some time. But, alas, it was
finally discovered, so we whipped up a batch of new eMail forms that
indeed DO work. If you sent an email to us using the old forms,
please resend it using the new forms. — thank you.
-
Our Federal 501(c)(3) determination is confirmed (as of 10/10/2004):
-
We are incorporated in the State of Michigan as a non-for-profit
corporation, and have just received our US federal IRS determination
that we are an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3). This means
that donations to us are tax deductible under section 170. This also
means that we are qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises,
transfers or gifts under section 2055, 2106 or 2522 of the Code.
Your gifts are greatly appreciated and will help us bring some truth to
the Web. The eLib, Inc. is the not-for-profit company that receives
and processes donations for The e.Lib, Fine Art Presentations —
e.Gallery, KnowNews dot Net, and the Rudolf Steiner Archive.
Our Employer Identification Number (EIN) is 20-0631312.
-
New pages at the Archive: (as of 09/10/2004):
-
Another new link on the left-hand menu having to do with these “What's
New/Coming/Old” pages — called
What's Up — has been added. There are also some new, descriptive
pages in the
Background area of the site. These include:
-
Waldorf Answers is on-line. (as of 07/28/2004):
-
Another new link on the left-hand menu having to do with Anthroposophy
and Waldorf Education is the new, Waldorf Answers site,
http://www.waldorfanswers.org/.
This site is different from most Waldorf-related sites. It is a private
site, intending to provide answers about Waldorf education — in
depth — that parents and prospective parents may have, and to clear
up some of the misconceptions that may exist about Waldorf education.
Their intention is to provide a straightforward presentation of the facts
about Waldorf education.
-
An Appeal from the e.Librarian (as of 07/23/2004):
-
Won't you please take some time to read our Appeal? The Spring storms
we experienced in our area this year, with their accompanying power
outages and fluctuations, have really taken their toll on our equipment
and reserve parts inventory. We desperately need your help so we can
maintain the work that this initiative is doing.
-
Anthroposophical Society in America Websites (as of 04/07/2004):
-
There are some new links on the left-hand menu having to do with the
Anthroposophical Society in America. We have moved the
Society Initiatives
link here, and added one for the
Society's Main website,
the CAO (Council for Anthroposophic Organizations)
Spirit Working
Spirit Working
website, and the Society's
Creative Human Spirit
website.
We encourage everyone to look them over ... lot's of good information and
news articles are there. So be "happenin'!" Get hep! Start clickin'.
-
It's Official! (as of 03/10/2004):
-
The eLib, Inc. is now the not-for-profit
company that receives and processes donations for The e.Lib, the e.Gallery,
and the Rudolf Steiner Archive. We are incorporated in the State of Michigan
as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation. Our Employer Identification Number
(EIN) is 20-0631312. Your gift is needed
and greatly appreciated and will help us bring some truth to the Web.
-
New to the The Lectures Section (as of 02/02/2004):
-
A brand new look! As we get more lectures on-line, the size of this
page has grown very large. So ... we broke it up into the different
letters of the alphabet. You can still select All of the
lectures, and just the New ones in the last 30 days. There is
also the ability to sort the listing by one of the columns: Title,
document Type, GA#, or Year given. Now the Lectures Section is more
like the other Sections at the Archive. Oh, and new lectures, too!
-
Long-standing problem in the
Articles Section
has been fixed!
-
At last ... the problem that has plagued many Microsoft Internet
Explorer users for some time has been fixed. This problem involved
IE not recognizing some characters that were to be displayed on the
status line of the browser. Apparently, it has existed since August
of 2002!! As far as we can tell, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, and Lynx
users did not have this problem. What we do know is that
no one said anything about it.
We do not have all versions of all browsers to test with, and rely
on the user base to let us know of problems on the site. Please, if
you have a problem with anything on this site, let us know. We want
the best experience for all visitors.
